Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's stories about the relaxed approach police take to DUI cases resulted in the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in State authorities issuing an even more strict directive on DUI instances. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell later worked at NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. O'Dell's current role as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
